  • Accounting and Tax Manager

    Are you experienced in TAX and ACCOUNTING for SMALL BUSINESS? Are you exceptionally HARDWORKING and RELIABLE? Do you have excellent ORGANIZATIONAL and PROBLEM-SOLVING skills? Are you very ENERGETIC, POSITIVE, and HELPFUL? Looking for a real OPPORTUNITY to help manage a GROWING firm?

    Responsibilities:

    As part of our team, your technical and problem-solving skills will help us provide outstanding personal service to a section of our small business clientele. Your organizational skills will help us keep our work-product flowing smoothly. Your experience with write up and income tax return prep will help us have a smooth busy season. We interact with our clients frequently throughout the year, and your helpful and upbeat attitude will make a great addition to our team!

    • Work with our professional staff to prepare and review monthly write up and tax filings
    • Prepare and review annual tax filings (Corporations, LLCs, 1040, other)
    • Assist with recurring tax planning for clients
    • Assist in managing monthly workflow for a section of small business clients
    • Develop into primary contact for our small business clients
    • Assist partners of our firm with client and management projects

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience working with small businesses
    • Experience with write up
    • Experience with tax return prep for Corporations and Individuals
    • General knowledge of payroll and sales tax filings required for small businesses
    • Excellent work habits and productivity level
    • Must be computer savvy
    • Upbeat, confident and sunny personality
    • Experience with Creative Solutions software (UltraTax, etc.) and QuickBooks is a huge plus
    • Desire for rapid professional development and opportunity to advance

  • Bookkeeper or Payroll Specialist

    Responsibilities:

    Accounting

    • Accurately prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements in a timely manner utilizing our systems and processes
    • Pay bills for assigned clients
    • Advise clients of payroll tax deposits, due date and amounts in a timely manner
    • Transmit EFTPS batch filing meeting all deadlines
    • Reconcile the bank statements for assigned clients
    • Track & record asset purchases & sales and record depreciation expense monthly
    • Keep client files organized and in standard company format
    • Reconcile wage information monthly & quarterly
    • Prepare 1099’s for assigned clients
    • Process payroll and prepare employee paychecks based on information provided by clients (i.e, wages/hours, reporting forms, new employee information, etc.) meeting all payroll deadlines
    • Set up new clients in accounting/payroll software & process back work
    • Prepare W-2’s for all assigned clients at year-end

    Taxes

    • Ensure that all tax reporting for assigned clients is done by required deadlines. This includes payroll depository taxes and sales tax where applicable.

    Requirements:

    • AA or BA in accounting
    • Payroll processing and accounting experience helpful, but will train the right person
    • Need to be responsible, timely, and detail oriented
    • Possess great communication and people skills
    • QuickBooks or Creative Solutions experience helpful

    Compensation:

    $15 per hour, plus production incentive bonus

  • Payroll Specialist

    Are you experienced in Payroll for SMALL BUSINESS? Are you exceptionally HARDWORKING and RELIABLE? Do you have excellent TIME MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATIONAL and PROBLEM-SOLVING skills? Are you very ENERGETIC, POSITIVE and HELPFUL? Looking for a real OPPORTUNITY to help manage a GROWING department in our firm?

    Responsibilities:

    • Process Payroll and prepare employee paychecks for assigned clients based on information provided by clients meeting or exceeding all payroll deadlines
    • Ensure that all tax reporting for assigned clients is done by required deadlines. This includes Payroll depository taxes where applicable.
    • Stay up to date on payroll law
    • Set up new clients in payroll accounting software
    • Prepare W-2’s for all assigned clients at year-end
    • Keep client files organized following standard procedures
    • Reconcile wage information monthly & quarterly
    • Respond to client inquiries on a timely basis

    Qualifications:

    • Two years Business degree with an emphasis on Accounting, or two years of equivalent work experience or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
    • Ability to work independently and also work well with others
    • Excellent numerical aptitude
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
    • One to two years PC experience using an Accounting software package
  • Payroll Operations Manager

    Responsibilities:

    As a part of the Corneliuson & Associates team, you will be in charge of all things payroll-related. You will be managing the payroll processors team, along with servicing and setting up clients. This position will also be tax-based, as you will be spending time working on federal and state tax returns. A friendly attitude is a must, as you will be interacting with many of your co-workers along with our clients.

    • Hire, train, and manage payroll processors
    • Monitor the payroll team’s production and payroll processing
    • Answer payroll questions for both the processors and the clients
    • Monitor profitability every month for both new and current clients
    • Return client phone calls timely and courteously
    • Work with marketing teams to obtain information and coordinate payroll delivery
    • Review and distribute tax returns to clients
    • Meet with the owner to discuss production, profitability, and other things regarding the department
    • Maintain monthly statistics for review by the owner
    • Keep all postings in compliance with the company

    Qualifications:

    • Associate’s Degree
    • 3 Years Experience in Payroll
    • CPP or FPC in Payroll
    • General knowledge of payroll operations
    • Great work habits, productive, and a self-starter

    Compensation:

    This position is a full-time position with pay that is based on an attractive salary. This salary can range from $60,000 – $75,000 a year, based upon your experience. There will also be excellent opportunities for advancement and promotion within the company. You may also qualify with a competitive benefits package, along with paid holidays and vacation.
